Hello adventurers, we wanted to take a moment to talk openly about some things that have deeply impacted small businesses like ours and the future of the tea we love.
Tea is, by nature, a global story. The leaves we blend are grown in regions across the world, all shaped by the soil, climate, and generations of knowledge and care. These places are not interchangeable. You can’t force tea to grow the same way in different soil or climates. Because of this, the tea industry has been particularly susceptible to price inflation due to unpredictable Trade Tariffs enacted by the Trump Administration and the increasing frequency of extreme weather events related to climate change, making many ingredients more difficult to source and more costly to procure.
At The Gilded Teafling, we believe everyone deserves access to beautiful and special experiences, so we have tried to keep our teas as affordable as possible. Throughout 2025, we waited and hoped that the trade tariffs would be resolved and prices would go down, opting to cover the price increase for as long as possible rather than pass it on to customers. Unfortunately, we have reached a point where we simply cannot maintain the quality and level of specialty ingredients in our tea at their current prices. Above all, we want our products to remain unique and immersive experiences. We put a lot of thought, care, and labor into designing our teas, from the ingredients themselves to the gold-emboss packaging using stunning artwork designed by real artists. We hope our customers can understand that to compromise on these things would be to go against our very ethos.
That said, effective February 2026, pricing for The Gilded Teafling products will increase.
These product increases are based on the quality of the teas, the variety of ingredients, the weight of the tea, and the intricacy of the packaging. This allows us to carry a diverse range of products, introduce more variety as we head into this new year, and to pay our artists and collaborators fairly.
Moving into 2026, The Gilded Teafling is ready to tell their story and open the world of Tria for you to discover. This storytelling will be reflected in new custom products, including drinkware and tea accessories; more roleplaying modules you can take your party on; and more brews to sweep you off your feet and into a world of adventure.
Thank you for continuing to journey with us—to share in stories, joys, dreams, and, perhaps most importantly, tea. At its heart, tea is a powerful symbol of connection and cultural exchange. It invites us to learn from one another, to share in rituals, flavors, and histories that span continents. In this way, tea teaches us the value of connection over isolation. Despite the challenges posed by the current U.S. administration as well as global socio-economic and environmental issues, we will do our best to continue to serve you. Together we can keep carving out this little fantastical, inclusive corner of the world and build a future worth dreaming about.
