Luiza Xavier Mazzei is an illustrator, animator, storyboarder and concept artist hailing from Brazil! She was our character designer, and one of our key rough animators, for our Gilded Teafling animation.

Bringing this character to motion for the first time was a huge undertaking. Luiza not only had the task of translating past renditions of the Gilded Teafling, but also to create a character design that was easily animatable without losing too many notable features through simplification. The end result created the warm and wonderful Teafling (and faithful familiar Assam,) you see today!
"I always had the feeling we were doing something great and beautiful; seeing how much everybody's work made it only better and better makes me grateful for have had this opportunity. The Gilded Teafling aimed for what's best in art: the human passion for creation!"
Outside of The Gilded Teafling, she has her own OC's that have a rich world/story. She also has done much work for EPIC: The Musical. She's been drawn toward evoking emotion, wether that be comfort, heartache, or laughter, since she could pick up a pen.
"I guess it's the way it makes me feel, and how I can make other people feel too. It started when I was just a little kid, this feeling of wonder... The world is beautiful and full of possibilities, and knowing I can participate - that I can make the drawings, animations and paintings people see - it's honestly what makes me live. I live for stories, for emotions, for love, tragedy, comedy, everything that makes me human."
