Sam Crossland is a Los Angeles based artist, 3D designer, and video-game character modeler who we had the pleasure to commission for some of our Magnus Archives charms, renditions of our TMA spoon, our Magnus Archives Strainer, as well as our Teafling Tea Strainer (coming out later this year!)
Going from character modeling and creating something applicable for videogame riggers to animate, to creating functional appliances in the 3D space was a fun way to test how his skills transferred! To work on a scale that is so minuscule, but create an impactful design, without having color as a tool for contrast, and only having depth of engravings, presented a unique challenge that ended up having a beautiful final effect.
He has also worked on Indie Horror game "Limb from Limb," and "Sherman's Quest!"
In his free time, he loves working in water color, and you can find Sam's Art on his socials, at @comet_fox.
