2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour, spooned and leveled

1 cup granulated white sugar

1 cup buttermilk

10 tbsp unsalted butter, softened

3 eggs, room temperature

3 tbsp Palace Garden tea

1 tbsp vanilla bean paste

1 tbsp culinary lavender

1 1/2 tsp baking powder

1/2 tsp salt

1/4 tsp baking soda

Lavender Frosting

2 cups powdered sugar
-
1 cup unsalted butter, softened

8 oz cream cheese, cold
-
1 tbsp culinary lavender
-
1/2 tbsp vanilla bean paste

Optional: purple food coloring

Instructions:

Cupcakes

Preheat oven to 350°F and line a 12-cup muffin tin with liners.

Grind Palace Gardens tea and lavender, sift into flour. Add baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

In a separate bowl, beat butter and sugar for 2 minutes until creamy.

Add eggs, buttermilk, and vanilla; mix until smooth.

Gradually add flour mixture to wet ingredients and mix until combined.

Spoon batter into cupcake liners (2/3 full).

Bake for 18–22 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.

Cool in tin for 10 minutes, then transfer to a rack to cool completely.

Frosting

Grind lavender and sift out large bits.

Beat butter on high until pale and fluffy (about 5 minutes).

Add cream cheese, beat on high for 1 minute.

Sift in powdered sugar and lavender, add vanilla. Mix until fluffy.

Add food coloring (optional) and mix until combined.
